Flushable Diaper Liners
Flushable cloth diaper liners are one way to make cloth diapering easy. These biodegradable diaper liners simply flush away messes, without any fuss or muss. They are ultra-simple to use, simply place the liner into the diaper and put the diaper on your baby. Then, when the liner is wet, just toss it in the trash. If it is messy, just let it slide into the toilet. Wait a moment for the liner to absorb water, then flush it away. It will break down in the sewer or septic system.
If you have difficult plumbing, flushable diaper liners may not be the best option. However, for most modern plumbing, the liners are no problem at all. They are just like flushing thick toilet paper.
Flushable liners are also a good idea if you must use diaper rash creams on your baby’s skin. Cloth diapers can be ruined with petroleum based or oily creams. A flushable liner will help to protect your cloth diapers from stains and residue that can lead to leaking and repelling diapers.
There are several popular flushable diaper liners on the market. Two popular brands are the Tiny Tush diaper liners and the Bummis flushable diaper liners. Both come on a roll, like paper towels, so you can simply tear them off as needed. The Bummis liners come in two sizes, one for smaller babies and one for toddlers.
